Frequently Asked Questions
I've always heard Dog Poop makes good fertilizer. Is this true? Not at all! Dog waste is hazardous - it is by definition labeled “Hazardous Waste” by important environmental agencies. Please ask your veterinarian about the subject.
What if I want to skip a service day? You will not be charged if you call us by 7:00pm the evening prior to your scheduled service. If the dog will be gone from the yard for any extended period of time, we can put your service on hold and you will not be charged until the dog returns. If, however, there is to be a dog in the yard at the time of suspended service, you will be charged the Initial Pick-up Fee when your service resumes.
Do you charge a Late Fee? That depends. If your payment is not received by the 16th, a fee of $15.00 will be applied to you next monthly bill. If there is a circumstance when you can't pay, please call PRIOR TO the 16th and let us know. We're willing to work with you.
What happens when it rains? We usually work in the rain unless there is a heavy rainfall or lightning. If your scheduled service is missed, we'll do our best to take care of it the next few days. If for some reason we are unable to service your yard due to rain, we will be back on your next regularly scheduled service day. You will NOT be charged for your missed service.
Am I required to be at my property when you come and clean it? No. If the dogs are left in the yard when we clean, we will have to schedule to meet you and your dogs to make sure they'll be OK with us on their territory. If they don't have a problem, neither do we. This is one of the biggest perks of the job! We love dogs.
How will you get access to my yard? Scooper Troopers must have unrestricted access to the area to be serviced. If you have a lock on your gate, you must provide us with a key to service your yard in a timely manner. There must be a properly functioning latch on your gate that is accessible from inside and outside. We cannot service your yard if your gate is somehow “rigged” in a manner that does not guarantee secure closure.
What health precautions do you take while cleaning my yard? We sanitize our tools and shoes between each service to ensure no cross contamination between clients.
When do I pay you? The fee for Initial Cleanings and One Time Cleanings are due at the time of service. If you have continual service, your bill will be mailed on the 1st of each month and will be due on the 16th of the month.
How do I pay you? We are currently accepting Cash, Checks and Money Orders. We're in the process of accepting automatic debit and credit cards via our website. We will keep our customers updated.
How do I know it's Scooper Troopers that's entering my property? We will always be in full uniforms (see "What do you do in the Winter?"), consisting of clearly marked shirts. We will also be carrying big red dustpans and rakes. If your neighbors are ever concerned, we encourage them to just ask us who we are and why we're there!
What do you do in the Winter? Dogs keep doing their business in the winter...so do we! You'll still see our red dustpans and our trucks, and us covered by winter coats, of course! Keeping up on your yard will help create a healthier environment for you and your pet (and you'll really thank us during the Spring thaw!). If we are unable to service your yard due to significant snowfall, Scooper Troopers will return on your next scheduled service day. If there is significant snowfall 3 or less days before your scheduled service day, we will return on you next scheduled service day. Your monthly rate will remain the same due to double the amount of waste on the next scheduled visit.
How do I set up service? Call or Email us NOW at (515) 201 – 3462 or scooper_troopers@msn.com. There are no contracts involved, and you can discontinue your service simply by giving us 1 weeks notice.
